D5 celebrates the recent success of Facebook employees. These individuals prioritize hard work, innovation and creative problem solving and as a result, many benefited from the recent Facebook IPO. When the dust finally settles on the stock price, the real issue is whether these newly minted millionaires will be as visionary with their other IPO—their Initial Philanthropic Offerings–as they have been in shaping the revolutionary phenomenon of social media. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder, gave $100 million to Newark, New Jersey’s school system, one of the most diverse and challenged school districts in the country.
