Summer 2014 found D5 and its partners hosting sessions at several national conferences, sharing knowledge and supporting action in three of D5’s priority areas: Leaders, Action, Data.
More than 430 participants attended the JAG Unity Summit last June in Washington, DC. D5 hosted an at-capacity session on our partners’ work to develop data collection standards with panelists Kelly Brown of D5, Larry McGill of the Foundation Center, and Ben Francisco Maulbeck of Funders for LGBTQ Issues.
D5 hosted a gathering of more than 40 philanthropic leaders during the COF Annual conference in June, where foundation CEOs and others discussed progress made to advance DEI, the Take 5 Campaign, and the challenges and opportunities ahead.
In September, D5’s Kelly Brown was a panelist at the recent Independent Sector C-Suite Midwest Regional Summit in Detroit, MI. The session, Making Racial and Ethnic Inclusion Real, also featured Marcus Walton of ABFE and Shirley Stancato of New Detroit.
