In June, D5’s Kelly Brown moderated a panel at the Americans for the Arts Annual Convention in Chicago entitled, How Can the Arts and Culture Strengthen Community Identity?
In April, D5 hosted a session at the Council on Foundations Annual Conference, Diversity and Data…Gaining Momentum, featuring panelists Robert K. Ross, The California Endowment; Darren Walker, Ford Foundation; and Mari Kuraishi, GlobalGiving and Guidestar. Attended by more than 100 participants, panelists shared stories about the impact, challenges, and opportunities for collecting, sharing, and using demographic data.
In May, D5 was invited to speak to a group of European funders at the European Foundation Centre in Milan. The D5 Director shared the work being done in the American philanthropic sector to advance DEI, and offered insights on how lessons learned and resources might apply to Europe.
