This 2009 report by the Foundation Center provides an assessment of the diversity of the foundations and nonprofits in the New York City area. There are two studies, the first surveyed members of Philanthropy New York to gather data on staff and board diversity and on foundation practices related to diversity in grantmaking. The second surveyed New York–area nonprofit organizations to better understand the diversity of these organizations and the populations they serve.
